The bulk of engineering and construction firms around the world have seen margins for new projects drop or remain the same, amid stiff competition in the industry, says a new KPMG survey on sentiments this year. As many as 31 per cent of the 140 engineering and construction companies from 25 countries polled said that they were bidding for new business with lower margins. This happened even in the Asia-Pacific, where economies were robust.
